Christina Cole and I met years ago when I lived in Johns Island, SC. An odd circumstance brought us together when I rescued a stray cat dodging Maybank Highway traffic. It would be Christina and her extended family who came to the kitten’s rescue to give that sweet pea a loving home. I learned very quickly that Christina was (and is) an absolutely incredible person, Mother and friend.
Christina is Mom to two of the most adorable girls, Riley (7) & Scarlett (3 – very soon to be 4). When she’s not too busy living her best Mom life, you can find Christina running her own business as a Balloon Artist with Wildflower Party Design. You may have even seen some of her beautiful balloon features at our The Women Network events.

On your average day, Christina gets her kids ready for the day and takes them to school. She understands the value of self care, which, as Moms we know can be very difficult. Christina does Barre 2-3 days a weeks then you’ll catch her running errands and hopping into balloon orders and the office side of her balloon & party rental business. Once work is complete and if time allows, she’ll pick up the house, get the girls an after school snack and head out to pick them up from school. Afternoons are extra full with activities like dance at Heartbeatz Dance Academy or playing outside until dinner.
When I asked Christina what brought her to start her business, Wildflower Party Design she first talked about having a space for herself as a stay at home Mom. What once started as a simple side hustle, has brought absolute joy into children’s and parent’s lives. I’ve seen her creations first hand and they always make our day! “I love working with people to make their events pop with personalized balloon designs. Making memories through special holiday or birthday traditions with my kids is my favorite so I love helping other people do that as well.” -Christina

Let’s Chat More with Christina:
What’s the best thing about being a Mom? What’s the hardest part?
Best- when they snuggle up to you and say they love you, also watching them grow into beautiful humans; hardest- navigating their ever growing personalities and trying to teach them and not lose it on them 😅
What is your proudest moment as a Mom?
Any time someone tells you that you have a good kid. (Author’s Note: Christina, I can totally agree that this is the best thing ever to hear. It’s hard to know how your children are around others when you aren’t there and then to hear that they are little rockstars is the best feeling in the world. It’s knowing that you are doing something right.)

What advice would you give a new Mom?
It’s always hard, just try to have fun and enjoy the little things. Kids don’t need you to give them the world, they just want you to be there. Also, on hard days just go outside or put them in the water. It always works and gives you a moment to pull yourself together.
What is your favorite shop to go to or yourself? For the kiddos?
Aside from Target 🤣 I love Charleston Flower Market for gifts and/ or flowers and for kids Wonder Works or Tweedle Beedle. Old Whaling Company is great for gifts too!
What are your favorite restaurants to go to with the whole family? & for date night?
The Natural or Azul for family!
Fam’s Brewing after a day at the beach.
Wild Olive for date night!
The Heyday for a day date!
What are your favorite family events around Charleston?
Play Dayz in Mount Pleasant Town Centre
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday Market at The Pourhouse
In Summer, I love reggae nights at the James Island County Park
