Meet Nicole Bradford: Births & the Bees

Nicole Bradford is a former labor and delivery nurse turned full-time doula. Her journey into birth work began with the birth of her daughter. Nicole chose a natural birth but realized how little she truly knew about labor and delivery. That experience opened her eyes and led her to become a labor and delivery nurse, where she spent six years supporting families through birth in both hospital and birth center settings.

Over the years, Nicole has had the honor of attending over 300 births, and through that experience, she saw a real need for personalized support and education before families even get to the delivery room. That’s what inspired her to become a doula—so she could focus more intentionally on prenatal education, continuous labor support, and comprehensive postpartum care.

Nicole started her doula business about a year ago and is currently accepting new clients. Her services include two in-person prenatal appointments, 24/7 virtual care and support, attending the actual birth and a postpartum visit with lactation support—plus everything in between.

On the personal side, Nicole is a wife, a mom of two with a third on the way, and lives on beautiful James Island. Nicole is passionate about all things babies, animals, and beach days with her family!

She has taught many childbirth, breastfeeding, infant CPR, and newborn care classes in hospitals and privately.

Mandy left hospital nursing in 2008 to spend time raising her two boys, who are now 13 and 16. While working part-time in clinics and teaching, she kept thinking how could she help families privately transition into parenthood.

In 2013, Annapolis Baby Consultant (ABC) was born. where Mandy worked independently for two years. By 2015, she built a team to keep up with the demand of clients. Upon moving to Charleston in 2019, Charleston Baby Consultant (CBC) was created, a replica of ABC.
