2nd Annual CHS Baby Shower – May 2025 – Real Mom. Real Talk. Real Hustle

Each year around Mother’s Day – CHS (working) Moms gathers expecting Moms to celebrate them in big ways alongside the local community filled with Baby & Post-Partum experts, shopping vendors, giveaways and plenty more! A Baby Shower for the Charleston locals, an absolute must if you’re expecting.

This year’s Baby Shower event took place at New Realm Brewing located in the heart of Daniel Island! Attendees were provided a swag bag full of goodies donated from local businesses and services. Working alongside the team at New Realm is always the best. I’ve done a few events with their team and we are always so grateful for their staff and the environment they create. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stop by for a good meal or if you’re looking to host an event like a Baby Shower, Rehearsal dinner, Retirement party and more!

Meet Kayla Rochelle Photography. If you’ve been following along for a while then you’ve seen her work in my Mom Spotlight series. She is an incredible photographer, Mom & friend. To be in her environment is an honor. As an event sponsor, Kayla bopped around throughout the event snapping some amazing photos & capturing all of the amazing businesses and Moms to be in beautiful ways. This gorgeous balloon work was donated by another one of our Event Sponsors: Holy City Party. Not only did she provide these beautiful balloons, she also showcased her Personalized Baby Stork announcement signs. Between balloons and announcement signs, Holy City Party has you covered for all of your Baby Shower & Birthday celebrations! Oh and added bonus – she is an absolute gem! We adore her (so does Cam)!!

In everyone’s swag bag, we snuck in the tastiest cookies from Event Sponsor: Megan’s Cookie Jar. Helping our Moms to be with a little sweet treat during the event was an added bonus. Megan was at the event showing options for gender reveals, baby shower treats and more. Yes, we all got spoiled including Cam & me when we got to bring home some leftover treats. Nothing like a good tasting box for the drive home!

Since it’s a Baby Shower, we definitely went over the top when it came to picking out the best vendors to provide the most beautiful decor and delicious treats. We added another layer to the decor with: a custom event sign, BABY box display, dessert cart, custom flower wall, neon sign and peacock chair providing the best photo backdrop for our Moms to Be! You bet we also added to our sweet treats too! Thanks to our final Event Sponsor: Magnolia & Sugar for celebrating our local Moms to Be with the sweetest and decadent cake pops I’ve ever enjoyed. When the flavors meet the artistry of the cake pops, the entire tasting experience is out of this world. Magnolia & Sugar really brought her A game to this event!

Throughout our event we offered a few Professional Panels including: Nicole Bradford (Births & the Bees), Dr. Megan Rome (Rome Physical Therapy), Dr. Gretchen Brooker (Breakfree Pelvic Health & Wellness), Mandy Owens, RN (Your Baby Consultant), Emma Goff (Your Cyclical Doula), Kat Schmidt (Fit Mommy Charleston) and Stephanie Button (Tweedle Beedle). We talked through everything and I mean, EVERYTHING. There was no topic off the table.

The Moms to Be had questions and it was so lovely to have a space where you could speak freely about pregnancy, birth and postpartum. This is a big reason why I started this yearly Baby Shower. I remember going through my own journey of pregnancy and postpartum, not having a clue what I was getting into or having any outside support on the experience. I discovered a lot of support and resources after the fact and decided to help spread the word to other Moms about their options throughout the entire journey.

The moment everyone was waiting for, the giveaways! This year’s attendees did not leave the party without a prize in hand. We gave these Mamas everything from a Doona car seat / stroller (thank you Tweedle Beedle) to a high chair (shoutout Paperclip) and everything in between. Imbali provided a few comfy robes while others gave away postpartum packages. Moms received newborn photo sessions, breastfeeding supplies, feeding supplies, postpartum support and even a balance bike for when the babe gets older (shoutout to Wonder Works on this one!).

My favorite part in all of this was having my daughter by my side helping out. If you know her, you know she loves to throw a party. She could sit still and had to get involved. What better way than announcing winners and bringing them their prizes. So, thank you to Cam for being the best assistant ever!

Should we do a 3rd year of this event? I’m thinking about it but may look at positioning it a bit differently to offer something available for Moms to Be and Moms in postpartum. I think there’s definitely a way to be inclusive of all Mamas in a big celebratory way. stay tuned as I wrap my head around this one and start plotting next year’s 3rd annual CHS Baby Shower.
