Athena Newell is an absolute ray of sunshine. She easily can lift the vibe in any room she walks in. I’ve known Athena for only a short while but knew immediately that she not only has an incredible energy, she is also a powerhouse working Mom.

Athena and her family have their schedule nailed down making it work for everyone and keeping everyone happy. As a business owner, Athena knew right away that she had to manage her calendar in a way that benefitted both her business and family life. This is probably the best I’ve seen with a work-life balance for a Mom. Sharing responsibilities with her husband, Athena enjoys a workout and is out the door a few days a week before the kids are even awake. In office by 7am, she positions herself to be her best self for her patients that day.
Athena is the owner of STAT wellness, located in Park Circle. As a Nurse Practitioner, Athena sees patients in the mornings to early afternoons. Listen up Moms, Athena specializes in Hormone Imbalance, which is something we all need guidance on especially in the stages we are in. (I’m currently in the Pre-Menopause phase of life and it’s a rocky rollercoaster. Athena – I’m calling you girl!)
Athena keeps her afternoons and evenings as free as can be to be fully present with her 3 kids, ages 11, 8 and 5 years old. They sure keep her busy with school pick-ups and after school activities. Weekends are cherished in the Newell household as they try to keep them relaxed and again, staying present with one another. Health is also on the forefront and if you caught it up above, Athena loves a good workout routine! Be sure to follow her on instagram because she will definitely keep it real with y’all and share her day to days. I find it very empowering and encouraging. GO ATHENA GO!

In true Mom spotlight fashion, I interviewed Athena and she gave us some real good answers here y’all! Get to know Athena Newell a bit more with me in our interview below:
What’s the best thing about being a Mom?
The very best part of being a Mom is being their safe place. Of all the places in the world, I hope they know we are their “touch tree”. They can explore and experience the world, but they can always come back to their safe place.
What’s the hardest part?
The hardest and also necessary is discipline.
What is your proudest moment as a Mom?
I’m proud that I’m able to show my kids different facets of being a Mom, wife and woman. I can prioritize my family, while also hold space for my own career and health needs.
When you get time to yourself, what do you like to do?
I read nightly- hard stop! & exercise
What advice would you give a new Mom?
Hold your plans, preconceived notions and dreams open handed. Motherhood will change you in so many ways, and it’ll never go as you expect. It’s the most beautiful butterfly effect.
Tell us about something funny that’s happened to you as a Mom.
Recently I had to sign an incident report at school because my youngest tried to bite another kids head that wasn’t following instructions. His teacher said she thinks it’s time to be done with the dragon cloak he’s been wearing to school.
